Facing the viewer, the Dragon offers the blessing of its magical powers, as it clutches the Dragon Pearl or Fire Ball representing wisdom and bearing the Chinese character for “Dragon” in the Yan script calligraphy style.The reverse also includes the word “Canada” and a face value of “2500 Dollars”. The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt with a repeating scallop pattern. The obverse also bears a special marking that includes four pearls symbolizing the four effigies that have graced Canadian coins and the double date of her reign.
